Flossing is Not Supposed to Hurt So Tell Us If It DoesIf you are one of the many people that flosses their teeth every day, like you should, then you shouldn't have any issues with doing so. You should be able to remove the plaque and debris from in between the teeth.

This is because you want to have a healthier smile overall. This is important to think about because if you floss, and it hurts, then it might mean you need to speak with our office to find out the underlying reasons to why this is.

When it Hurts to Floss

If you find that it hurts to floss, it is not something that should happen. You want to give our professionals a call and let us know. We can perform an exam, and also a cleaning under the gum line, so you can smile with healthier, better looking gums and teeth. Not only that, but when you have this type of cleaning done, you shouldn't have any pain when flossing or brushing your teeth. Your gums shouldn't bleed, and you shouldn't have inflamed gums.

Flossing should be done regularly, but if you do not do it as often as you should, this can cause problems in the mouth that need to be addressed. We always advise our patients to floss at least once a day, and brush at least twice. Rinsing the mouth after eating with water throughout is also a great way to have a healthy smile.

It is important for you to speak with our professionals regarding the flossing that you do, any pain that is felt, and more. This is because you want to feel good about the cleaning that is done, but also know that our professionals are going to help to remove any discomfort, you're feeling from caring for your teeth. Give us a call today, so we can get you in as soon as possible.
